How you holding up?

The past few weeks have been debilitating in the country. Some are battling for their lives in the hospital, some have paid the ultimate price and consequently, families are trying to come to terms with the sudden death of their loved ones.

Cutting across the country is the imminent fear of the unknown, loneliness, and the struggle of living.

Whatever it is, all of us are trying to stay alive. And making sure that our friends and family do as well.

When it comes to an epidemic, we all respond differently and trust me, it’s all legit.

It’s okay to be afraid. It’s normal for a situation to turn our lives upside down.

We’ve, in the past few days, been urged to do something during this crisis. Maybe take a course, learn something new, start an online business or so.

While these are good suggestions, not all of us are in our best states (mentally and physically) to do so. No, it’s not an excuse, it’s the reality of our times. So, staying at home, keeping sane, and trying to get through this, is actually enough.

There is no way you gonna grab an online course when your brother is sick. All of us are at different times, of these trying moments. So don’t feel pressured to make the most of it, when you can’t.

These next few moments will probably be the hardest, but please keep safe, and stay alive and connected. We aren’t alone. Let’s stay sane and pray for each other.

And please, seek help when you need to. Talk to a counselor or a friend when you are depressed and encourage others to do so.

If you are sick, you gonna be okay. Call 719, and you will get the support that you need.

This will be over and I will be able to come see you, hug and talk about the best of our moments.

I know you’ve heard it before, but this is what I actually believe with every fiber of my being:

This too shall pass
